Looks great, and great concept, but it will depend on it’s costs. The SV650 and those like them are affordable in the $6000 - $7000 range.
If this thing is close to that, then it will be a game changer for Aprilia.

That’s a good looking bike.
I have a rule, any bike with a painted engine is a no-go.. but for that.. I could make an exception....

But what is maintenance like? Because to compete there, it needs to be cheap and easy.

I’d assume that the maintenance schedule is close to that of an RSV4, since it’s basically the same engine cut in half. The biggest cost issue is valve clearances at 12.5k miles for road use.
Race use calls for moving the valve clearances
and some transmission work up to every 3,750 miles
.

Probably will slot in above an SV or Ninja 650 but below a 600.
$8k or $9k starting price, then rebates placed on them after a year to sell leftovers. Same sales concept that Aprilia uses for their other bikes.

Sounds about right to me. I think they said it would be called the RS 660, well right now the concept it called that.
Though they did state this bike will be cutting edge and advanced, which doesn’t sound like $8K to me. However, a RS 660 Tuano could.
Its going to be a parallel twin, not sure if I like that as much as a V-Twin.

That’s a lot and will certainly turn off some potential buyers.

IF they can bring it to the same cost and reliabilty as an SV, yes.
somehow...I doubt that
